Monica is a registered genetic counsellor and lecturer in the Division of Human Genetics at the National Health Laboratory Services and the University of the Witwatersrand. Monica consults with patients and families in both the state and private healthcare system who have , or are at risk of genetic conditions. She is passionate about improving genetic literacy and raising awareness about genetic counselling and access to genetic services. Monica is also the co-founder of Positively Predisposed, a support network for South Africans with a hereditary predisposition to breast cancer.
