Dr Peter Taylor graduated as a General Surgeon at the University of the Free State in 2015. He worked for 3 years in a general surgery private practice in Vanderbijlpark. During this time, he also worked as a sessional trauma surgeon at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (2016 - 2017) and attended multiple laparoscopic workshops. He obtained a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Strasbourg in France (2017) and attended a Laparoscopic Hernia Repair course in Seville, Spain presented by Bard Hernia University (2018). He has done multiple presentations at local and national level, including at the Annual National Colorectal meeting and SAGES CPD evenings. He went on to complete his Fellowship in Surgical Gastroenterology with a special interest in Colorectal Surgery at the University of Witwatersrand (2021). Dr Taylor has recently joined the WDGMC Colorectal Unit and has a specific interest in early and advanced Colorectal cancer.
