Dr. Barmania is a Urologist in practice at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre for the past eleven years. Dr. Barmania completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Witwatersrand in 1995 and later graduated with a Fellowship in Urology from the College of Medicine of South Africa in 2004. He gained a wealth of experience at some of South Africa's busiest hospitals whilst on the training circuit at Wits University, including Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital and Helen Joseph Hospital. He was involved in postgraduate teaching and is still involved in undergraduate teaching. He was the head of the Urology department at Helen Joseph Hospital for over six years, until February 2011. While Dr. Barmania treats the full spectrum of Urology patients, he has developed a special interest in diseases of the bladder and prostate, kidney disease, kidney stones, laparoscopy, urethral reconstruction and male and female urinary incontinence.
