Dr Irwin is a Specialist Physician and Medical Oncologist. She studied Medicine and then undertook training in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She was awarded the degree of Master of Medicine from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2020 for research focusing on the outcomes of liver transplantation. Dr Irwin works as a consultant at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre and Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital and is an investigator for several cancer clinical trials.
