Paediatric and Adolescent Haematology including:

  • Investigation and management of anaemia (iron deficiency, sickle cell, other hereditary and haemolytic anaemias, thrombocytopaenia (ITP, Congenital) and neutropenia.
  • Investigation and management of aplastic anaemia
  • Investigation and management of blood clotting disorders including haemophilia

Paediatric and Adolescent Oncology including:

  • All aspects of the curative management of childhood cancers including acute leukaemias and lymphomas, abdominal solid tumours, sarcomas, brain tumours, eye tumours and bone tumours
  • Providing supportive and palliative care when curative treatment is no longer possible
  • Liaising across disciplines to plan radiotherapy, surgery and other investigative and management procedures as required.
  • Liaising with international experts to assess patient eligibility for clinical trials, experimental therapies and advice in challenging cases
  • Assessing patient suitability for stem cell transplantation

Comprehensive patient management takes place in a group practice with different specialist haematologists/oncologists providing expertise across the spectrum of paediatric haematology and oncology.
