Dr. Wade is a specialist physician and endocrinologist. After completing her medical degree with honours at the University of the West Indies, she obtained a DPhil (PhD) from Oxford University in the United Kingdom; her doctoral work focused on the use of blood glucose self-monitoring in patients with type-2 diabetes who are not using insulin. She subsequently completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Centre and fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania, both in the United States. Dr. Wade continues to be an active researcher with a primary interest in chronic disease in developing countries. In her clinical practice, she sees patients with all types of endocrine disorders and focuses on delivering patient-centred care.
