I obtained my B. Sc Dietetics (Hons) in 2000, after which I worked as a clinical dietician in the United Kingdom for 12 years. On my return to South Africa, I joined the team at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre. My main areas of interest are providing nutritional therapy to patients in the Critical Care setting, optimising nutritional status before intestinal surgery and educating on dietary adjustments after surgery. I have a special interest in the nutritional management of high output ileostomies and intestinal failures (Short Bowel Syndrome) patients. I also consult on other gastro-intestinal conditions like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease and constipation, as well as conditions like diabetes and obesity.
