Duvern Ramiah is the Head of Radiation Oncology at the University of the Witwatersrand and Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital where he sits on various committees including the hospital research committee. He has a private practice at Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre. He has published articles, most recently in Breast Radiation Therapy, in high impact international journals. He is an examiner for the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa FCRadOnc examinations, is a member of the executive committee of the South African Society of Clinical and Radiation Oncologists (SASCRO) and on the editorial board of the South African Journal of Oncology (SAJO). In addition, he is an executive board member of the Breast Interest Group of South Africa (BIGOSA) and the Gauteng Department of Health Cancer Task team. Outside clinical work, Duvern holds an MBA from London Business School and has an interest in harnessing maximal value from novel medical technologies, especially in oncology, and the redesign of the health ecosystem to fit a world moving to precision medicine.
